CAV Injector Pump

Hi,

I recently bought a David Brown 25D with a CAV in-line injection pump which has an overflow pipe from the bottom chamber. This pipe leaks a lot of diesel after stoppig the tractor. How can this be rectified?

Is this caused by the lift-pump mounted on the injector pump leaking back into the bottom chamber, or wear at the 'top end' of the pump?

Also, on a different matter, what are the thread sized for the front and rear wheels on the 25D? Thanks.

Hmmm. I am not familar with 25D but I have an impression that in-line pumps are originally oil lubricated. If the high pressure elements leak, they will drop fuel to the camshaft chamber and extra liquid will start leaking out sooner or later.

There is a diaphram in the rear of these pumps and if it splits will pump fuel into the chamber which will give you this problem, simmilar to how a lift pump diaphram when split will leak diesel into the sump on later tractors. This may be worth investigation.
